One of the best things about October in RVA is the Folk Festival. If you’ve never been, mark your calendar now for the October 11-13 extravaganza of multicultural music, dance, storytelling, and food. Performers come from across the globe for this annual event in Richmond – one of Virginia’s largest events – and the sense of festivity is a community-wide vibe for days.
The Folk Festival happens on and around Brown’s Island, with multiple stages supporting simultaneous music acts and performances. It’s FREE and family friendly, but make sure you’re prepared for walking – there’s too much to see to stay in one spot for long.
