After returning to Richmond in 2018, Morgan Huynh decided to blend her love of art and baking into a custom cookie business. The results are MASTERFUL.
Morgan’s talent for iced cookies has earned her a long list of loyal customers and a sold-out schedule of how-to events. In fact, she’s got a two-month waiting list for custom cookie orders. Her business name – Pipe & Flood – reflects the techniques she uses for skillful (and delectable) decorating. Using royal icing, she ‘pipes’ an outline of decorative elements on custom-shaped cookies and then ‘floods’ the remaining surface with a thinner coating to complete the design.
Morgan’s success with Pipe & Flood is especially sweet because it gives her the opportunity to be a stay at home working mom. She uses her son’s nap times for creative exploration and has even gotten her husband involved in crafting custom cookie cutters. With barely a year in the business, she’s just getting started.
