If you prefer champagne over the astral plane, have a little adventure and drive to Upper Shirley Vineyards. Located thirty minutes from Richmond, it’s a nice treat after a lovely Fall drive down Route 5. Plenty of outdoor seating is available overlooking a beautiful bend in the James River.
Speaking of Route 5, if you haven’t biked on the Capital City Bike Trail, treat yourself and go for a spin. For the adventurous, the trail can take you all the way to Williamsburg. A good place to start is Rocket’s Landing, and go as far as you’d like on this scenic route.
