I haven’t even had time to pull out my cold weather clothes yet, and already the leaves are starting to change colors! Virginia boasts some of the best fall foliage in the country–not that I’m biased–and the Virginia Department of Forestry provides a comprehensive map so you can be sure to get the best view at the right time. My family loves to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, and we always make some casual stops for snacks and maybe even a winery or two. This year most of the foliage in the region is expected to peak in mid to late October, so be sure to plan your leaf-peeping drives accordingly!
