Shop ’til you drop!

I love this time of year, except the part where I’m tearing my hair out. Love the excitement, not a fan of the extra stress. To ease your holiday schedule, check out a few of my favorite local gift shops. These great artisans offer never-fail favorites for everyone on your list. Enjoy!

  • Apothec: Locally made lotions, wonderful candles, oils and scrubs to nurture both body and senses. I’m crazy about the Lemongrass and Eucalyptus room spray!
  • World of Mirth: A Carytown classic where you can find fun and funky gifts, and stocking stuffers like bacon-bandaids or squirrel earrings. Perfect for kids of all ages.
  • VMFA: The gift shop at the Virginia Museum of the Fine Arts offers unique and artistic gifts, books, toys, games, and artwork. And, bonus, I always leave feeling extra good about my purchase since all proceeds benefit the museum.
  • For the Love of Pete: A chic boutique for the pet lovers in your life located on the avenues at Libbie and Grove. It’s a fun, cozy spot to find treats or toys for furry friends, or just gifts for the people who love them. Another plus, your fur babies are welcome to shop with you.
  • Mongrel: If you have a sense of humor, good taste, and a bit of attitude, this place is for you. Fun, unique gifts that you won’t find anywhere else. One of the few places where you can find things for people on your naughty and nice list in the same store.
