With Memorial Day weekend in the rear-view mirror, it’s time to swan dive into summer past times. Virginia makes it especially easy in early June to enjoy one of my seasonal favorites. From June 7-9, the state offers three full days of free fishing, meaning you don’t have to buy a license to fish in public waters. With so many beautiful lakes and rivers, free-fishing weekend will get you hooked on a summer full of outdoor adventure.
Not only is there no fee for the weekend of June 7-9, you’ll also get to meet members of the Game and Inland Fisheries agency at events around the state and learn from their expertise on landing stripers, trout, and bass.
