Eat Your Heart Out

Eat Your Heart Out

With Valentine’s Day coming up, nothing says love like a gift of good meat. (Ok perv, get that thought out of your head, this is a family newsletter.) I’m talking about a fine cut of grass fed Angus Beef grown on a farm in the lovely Shenandoah Valley. My friend Libby Lewis and her husband John started Lewis Cattle Company on 750 lush acres of grass, giving their stock plenty of room to roam, graze and drink from spring fed water. Their products are outstanding.

If you have a big family, planning for a party, or want to have the convenience of a stocked freezer, you can order a quarter, half or whole angus. It’s great knowing it goes directly from farm to table. By contrast the average McDonald’s burger is made from up to 100 cows. Per burger. Seriously, I have no idea how that’s even possible, but I’ll take farm to table anytime.

Looking for smaller quantities? No problem. Cuts include briskets, steaks, roasts, ribs, ground beef and just about anything you can get at a quality butcher shop. Delivery is available in Virginia with most deliveries arriving in one to two days. If you see something you like, don’t hesitate because items sell out. As of this writing there is only one LCC Black Angus Hanger Steak left in stock and my finger is poised above the order button.  Use the code Laura10off at check out and you’ll get, you guessed it, 10% off your order.

And whether Valentine’s Day or Lupercalia is on your calendar, enjoy!
