One of the best things about October in RVA is the Folk Festival. If you’ve never been, mark your calendar now for the October 11-13 extravaganza of multicultural music, dance, storytelling, and food. Performers come from across the globe for this annual event in Richmond – one of Virginia’s largest events – and the sense of festivity is a community-wide vibe for days.

 

The Folk Festival happens on and around Brown’s Island, with multiple stages supporting simultaneous music acts and performances. It’s FREE and family-friendly, but make sure you’re prepared for walking – there’s too much to see to stay in one spot for a long.
