Old Is The New New

January is the traditional time we start thinking about doing something new or different to our homes. If you are thinking about something new, why not try something old? A great place to get inspiration is Richmond’s oldest architectural salvage supplier, Caravati’s. Located a few minutes from Shockoe Bottom at 104 East 2nd Street, their 42,000 square-foot warehouse is filled with everything ranging from decorative hardware and building supplies, to stained glass and light fixtures. It’s a great place to spend some time whether you’re renovating a house, looking for a decorative piece, or just want to stroll back in time.
Now is a good time to visit, they plan to sell their current building and move to a smaller facility this year.
Open 8:30-5:00, closed on Sunday.
