Looking for some fun in July? Here are a few suggestions for celebrating the 4th of July, and other ways to have fun this month.
Fourth of July fireworks around Richmond
Dogwood Dell concert and fireworks. Music includes jazz from Simply Kevin, a Carillon bell concert, and patriotic music by the Richmond Concert Band. Music starts at 5:45, and fireworks at 9:00. Bring a chair and a picnic.
Relax on Thursday nights at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens’ Flowers after 5 events. Triple Crossing Jazz is playing 5:00-8:00 on July 1st with music from the 30’s-the 60’s.
I know we’ve all been dying to get outside, but this is Virginia in July and air conditioning is looking pretty good right now. There are wonderful events and classes at the
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts ranging from designing fashion to drawing to photography, and they sell out quickly. July’s offerings are pretty picked over at this point, so check them out now for things you’ll enjoy down the line.
I’ve waited all year for this one! The cheesiest event RVA has ever seen is the
Richmond Mac and Cheese Festival. Top Chefs, food trucks, and vendors will serve up over 30 kinds of mac and cheese. Complete with craft beers, wines, spirits, and cider and featuring live music. July 24th, Richmond Raceway Complex, 600 East Laburnum Avenue.
Enjoy!
